Artist Statement – 2026

My work is a form of abstract surrealism that merges technology, fantasy, and futurism. While it operates within its own distinct visual language, it also reflects the accelerating pace of technological change, the approaching singularity, and the dissolving boundaries between humanity, the natural world, and machines.

For years, my work has been shaped by an enduring interest in urban architecture, biology, and science fiction. A somewhat Jetsons-like sentiment runs through my work, presenting a future-oriented world in which hard-edged geometric and biomorphic abstraction merge to emphasize both consumer allure and the complexities of technological systems. Scientific influences further reflect an ongoing pursuit of innovation through the invention of structures, forms, and circuitry of visual ideas.

Grounded in surrealism, the work begins with subconscious, automatic drawings that are organized and transformed into paintings on wood and canvas of varying scale. Through color, texture, and a mixed range of techniques, I strive to create a strong visual dialogue between unconventional forms. Precision of line, combined with stippling, brush flecking, stenciling, and masking, induce contrast, variation, and a techno-glam sensibility. The use of gouache, acrylic, and glazing creates distinct effects, while sprayed elements introduce an ethereal quality of light and a mysterious, otherworldly atmosphere.

Through this work, I continue to expand my vision, creating paintings that remain relevant while helping to define our rapidly evolving technological age. In this time of transition and uncertainty, despite the rise of AI and robotics, I believe humanity’s appreciation for human-made art will flourish, sustained by the power of human experience, critical thought, and imagination.
